Conservation of Nature is essential for the sustenance of mankind. The Eco Club promotes the protection and conservation of the environment and has organized several programmes under its auspices. World Earth Day, Environment Day and Yoga day are regularly celebrated by conducting quiz competitions and essay writing competitions.

It’s all about attitudinal transformation
With increasing environmental issues there is a need of hour for sustainable and greener future. Environmental Education, Awareness and Training plays a significant role in encouraging and enhancing people’s participation in activities aimed at conservation, protection and management of the environment, essential for achieving sustainable development. Attitudinal transformation is a necessity for solving ecological issues.
Eco clubs of an educational institution plays a pivotal role transforming the attitudes in the younger generation towards environment. In order to ensure this transformation and with a vision of raising social awareness regarding environmental issues and protection, significant environmental related laws and changing students’ attitude towards the environment by ensuring their active participation in club’s activities. The eco club of Mar Gregorios College of Law was formally inaugurated on the World Environment Day , 5th June 2018 by the internationally famous conservational photographer Mr. Balan Madhavan, who is also a recipient of UN awards.
The club will be committed towards raising social awareness regarding environmental issues and protection, significant environmental related laws and changing students’ attitude towards the environment by ensuring their active participation in club’s activities.
♦ To get the students actively involved in environmental matters and to develop their interest over environmental issues
♦To create awareness among students about the legal framework existing in international and national arena.
♦ To inculcate proper attitude with regard to environment and its conservation through action-based programmes.
♦ To enhance students participation in protecting the micro environment.
♦ To implement efficient solid waste management.
♦ To reduce the use of plastic in the community.
♦ To forge ties with the community on ecological problems and conservation
♦ Motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees.
♦Organize tree plantation programmes, awareness programmes such as Quiz, essay, painting competitions, rallys, street plays etc. regarding various environmental issues and educate children about re-use of waste material & preparation of products out of waste
♦ Sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags, not to throw them in public places as they choke drains and sewers, cause water logging and provide breeding ground for mosquitoes.
♦ Promote ethos of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water.
